Inner Line Permit

Due to the border area you have restriction to visit border areas. Some of the border areas / places you need to obtain the Inner Line Permits in advance. Valid travel agents in Leh approved by Tourism Department Jammu & Kashmir are entitled to issue your Inner Line permit for the restricted areas.

All national are advised to keep a valid ID proof to visit Leh. PAN card for the domestic national might not work.

Chinese national / Nationals from Pakistan are need to obtain the Inner Line permit from Ministry of External Affairs of Govt of India in advance. It may be a time consuming process and may take more than a month.

Diplomat passport holders living in India / Abroad and foreign national having official visa for India also need to obtain the inner line permit from Ministry of External Affairs – Govt of India.
